Goldfish in a bag

The image of these 2 men got me started thinking about their conversation. The image is rather nothing & it took some playing to find other images to help tell their story. Last night I watched at tv show where one character was going to give his date a goldfish in a bowl, but she left before he could.
There is a lovely U.S. Postage 3 Cent Stamp, Future Farmers of America, 1928 - 1953 in the left bottom corner.
